GWO BST Offshore Training

Course overview

The aim of this course is to provide the requirements of the Global Wind Organisations (GWO) Basic Safety Training (BST) In a single package. The GWO BST forms the basic safety training requirements for anyone working within the wind industry. This package includes the 1.5 day Sea Survival training. The training is jointly accredited by Renewable UK and the Global Wind Organisation. Those attending with a comprehensive understanding of: sea survival equipment and techniques; transfer between vessels and vessel and wind turbine and rescue procedures. The course is a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical skills. The course is pass / fail. Delegates will be assessed on theoretical knowledge and practical skills.

PREREQUISITES

Delegates must be medically fit with a head for heights.

TARGET PARTICIPANTS

Any person required to work off-shore within the wind energy industry.

Course assessment

Practical and written.

All successful candidates will receive a MB Globalus Mokymai and a Global Wind Organisation approved certificate valid for 2 years. Certificates must be renewed within 2 years of the date of assessment​.

Admission requirements

Attendees should be medically and physically fit to carry out the practical part of the course and free from medical contra-indications that may prevent them from working safely at height. Course participants will be required to self-certify their medical and physical fitness before commencement of the course. 

Participants should be aged 18 years or over.

Important

From 17 October 2016, delegates who attend a GWO Training course must create a profile in WINDA  in order to get a WINDA ID which they must supply to ARCH prior to completing the training.
